Information Technologies Group - Web Migration Project
Coordinate with the County Commissioner’s Association of Pennsylvania (CCAP) to develop a webhosting solution as a replacement for the current five year old system in use by 80+ local governments that have essentially been abandoned by the State; setup a shared host environment with CCAP including software, management, training, and support; move currently hosted web sites to the new system and train users on new management tools and techniques.
This project proposes coordination with CCAP to procure a logical replacement, prevent the same issues from arising in the future, and serve as a basis to generate usage fees to support self sufficiency in the future. Sharing a single solution provides significant economy of scale as well as offering a base for support and future advancement. SharePoint also provides on-line collaboration and e-commerce tools which are becoming increasingly important in today‘s business practices. With these components available, implementation and training could be provided whenever the clients are ready to adopt the new tools. This project would directly complement the “E-Payment Acceptance for Local Governments” project that we started in 2007.
