Millheim Borough is located in Centre County, Pennsylvania on Route 45 approximately 30 miles east of State College. The Borough is situated in a rural setting that offers close proximity to Penn State sporting activities, restaurants, theatres, and shopping. The town itself offers quaint craft shops, restaurants, a volunteer fire company, ambulance service, banking facilities, and a community swimming pool. The Borough has a designated Historic District that is listed with the Centre County Historical Society. The Penns Valley Area School District is located approximately three miles west of Millheim on Route 45.

Governor Rendell announced on April 22, 2008, that Millheim Borough has been awarded a Growing Greener Innovative Technology grant in the amount of $167,065 to upgrade the sewage treatment plant with a membrane bioreactor wastewater treatment system, which is superior to conventional systems in that it guarantees fecal coliform is removed from the effluent while also being more cost effective.
Curbside brush pick up is done the first Monday of the month beginning in April and ending in December. The pick up for January is the second Monday of the month so Christmas trees can be collected. No pick ups are done in February or March.
There is 2-hour parking in the downtown business district. The area is signed and offenders may be ticketed.
