Communities & Non-Profit Groups

Community Development ─ Counties and individual communities are assisted in developing projects and finding the money to implement them, projects involving infrastructure, community facilities, recreation and public services. We also provide training in various aspects of the Community Development Block Grant program.

Energy Resource Center ─ Education, training, and technical assistance on energy conservation and renewable energy.

Geographic Information Systems ─ Mapping and data management for counties, communities, and non-profit organizations.  GIS can be used for site identification, market analyses, and transportation planning studies.

Graphics & Printing ─ For local and county governments, and public, non-profit organizations.  Everything from business cards, letterheads, and envelopes to brochures, newsletters, and reports.

Housing ─ Apartment buildings for the elderly.  Community-based housing rehabilitation programs.  We work with counties, individual communities, and local housing organizations.

Information Technologies ─ Identifying and assessing technology needs.  Assisting with hardware and software purchases.  Database and application programming.  Website and software development, and web hosting for local governments.  We also help residents and communities obtain broadband services.

Transportation Planning ─ Rural counties and municipalities in Central Pennsylvania have a voice in the state’s transportation plans, working with SEDA-COG, the business community and non-profit organizations to establish the region’s transportation priorities.  Local governments can also receive free or low-cost training through SEDA-COG's Local Technical Assistance program, offering courses in roadway maintenance and safety.

Regional Statistics ─ Good planning requires quality information.  Data on a range of categories can be found here, e.g., census, employment, demographics, income, housing.
