Rail Freight Service ─ The SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority owns five short line railroads, serving the counties of Centre, Clinton, Columbia, Lycoming, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, and Union. Freight service is provided by a private operator. The Rail Authority can help rail customers prepare applications for the Pennsylvania Rail Freight Assistance Program and, in conjunction with rail projects, customers may also be assisted in seeking funds to redevelop abandoned sites.
