Short Description

SEDA-COG okays $1.2 million in financing

Body

The SEDA-COG Local Development Corporation has approved an SBA 504 loan of over $1.2 million to a motorcycle dealership in Erie County, PA.  Having outgrown its current facility, Harley Davidson of Erie is planning to expand, locating approximately one mile from its current location in Millcreek Township.

The new location will be more than three-and-a-half times the size of its current site.  The dealership plans to purchase a 58,000 sq. ft. building on five acres.  In addition to the loan through SEDA-COG the project will be financed through company equity and First National Bank of Pennsylvania-Erie. The loan application will be reviewed and final action taken by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Harley Davidson of Erie was founded in 1972 and purchased by its current owners, Kelly and Susan Lapping, in 2007.  The couple provides day-to-day, on-site management of the business.

As a result of the project the company expects to add eight to ten jobs over the next two years.
