Short Description

Body

Business owners can gain key insights into how to compete for over $575 million from reliable payers at a seminar sponsored by SEDA-Council of Governments’ Procurement Technical Assistance Center.

The “Introduction to PA COSTARS for Sellers/Suppliers” seminar will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 1 at the Union County Government Center, 155 N. 15th St., Lewisburg.

Kim Bullivant, marketing manager of the state Department of General Services COSTARS program, will present how to:

  • Increase business with reliable payers
  • Sell to qualified local governments and nonprofits without expensive bidding procedures
  • Compete based on the company’s features and benefits – not just price

The Commonwealth’s Cooperative Purchasing Program (COSTARS) provides opportunities for businesses of any size and any location to compete for over $575 million of government business from buyers comprised of local public and non-profit agencies.

A key benefit of the COSTARS program is that it eliminates the bidding process with COSTARS-approved suppliers, while generating competitive pricing. Qualified public entities can negotiate with and buy directly from those businesses and keep procurement dollars in the local economy.

The seminar is $20 per person and includes a pizza lunch. Registration is required at https://bit.ly/2osRqzU. For more information, contact SEDA-COG’s Robert Brown at 570-522-7224 or rbrown@seda-cog.org.

The SEDA-COG Procurement Technical Assistance Center is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Defense Logistics Agency.

SEDA-COG’s Procurement Technical Assistance Center helps companies explore and compete in the local, state, and federal government marketplace. For more information about the SEDA-COG Procurement Technical Assistance Center, visit www.seda-cog.org/ptac/.
