Short Description

The Milton Borough Flood Task Force is sponsoring a workshop to help flood insurance policy holders learn how to interpret their flood insurance policies. Special attention will be given to understanding the declaration page and how future changes to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) will affect current insurance premiums.

This workshop is open to all area residents and community officials interested in learning more about NFIP flood insurance policies.

Jeff Coup from The Coup Agency and members of the Milton Borough Flood Task Force will be in attendance to discuss flood insurance and answer questions. Fellow residents also will be on hand to discuss their own lessons learned related to flood insurance.

The workshop will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 27 at Milton Borough’s Council Room, 2 Filbert St.

The Milton Flood Resiliency Task Force is composed of representatives from real estate, the insurance industry and other professionals as well as residents. The task force has been meeting bi-monthly for the past year and has implemented several initiatives to educate and inform residents about flood insurance, risk and emergency preparedness.

SEDA-Council of Governments (SEDA-COG) assisted borough council to designate a task force committee and has supported the efforts of the task force, including identifying deliverables. SEDA-COG staff will be in attendance.

For more information, residents may call Milton Borough’s Doug Diehl at 570-742-8759 or SEDA-COG’s Bill Bradfield at 1-800-332-6701.
